Spike Café is a sunny, South facing space at the entrance to the building. We are open for breakfast and lunch during the week, and over lunchtime on Saturdays and Sundays.

We offer a wide range of snacks and meals to suit every palette and pocket, and we pride ourselves in using local and ethical ingredients and produce wherever possible. We use only free range eggs and meat, and serve triple-certified Rainforest Alliance Coffee from Clifton Coffee. We also have free WiFi and local magazines, all of which makes us the ideal place for a quick lunch or a lazy afternoon.

We are available for private hire, and can cater for most events, from business meetings to birthday parties.

Spike Café was designed by Caruso St John in collaboration with artists Hayley Tompkins and Sue Tompkins, and was opened in 2007. The artists worked particularly on the furniture and the clean contemporary lines of the bar. This emphasis on excellent design, good food and a great atmosphere makes us an outstanding cafe-bar for Bristol.
