Spike Island's 80,000sq ft building is home to a number of creative businesses and arts charities. These organisations contribute a great deal to both the social and working mix within the building and find Spike Island a stimulating and energetic place to base their businesses. Some have become partners and collaborators with both Spike Island and others that are based here.
These units and office spaces for more established businesses compliment the early stage support provided by Spike Design. Rents for these units are based on the current market rate for creative workspace, and service charges are applied depending on the type of unit.
Current tenants include design companies such as Adrian Barclay Illustration, Back to the Planet, Hi-Sim, Iomi Solutions, Ratiotype and Smith and Jones Design, and commissioning agency of artist film and video, Picture This with their Atelier at the west end of the building. The largest of all these tenants is UWE (The University of the West of England). Their 10,000sq ft unit accommodates their entire fine art undergraduate department of around 300 students. UWE are a strategic partner with whom we develop many projects and initiatives. Spike Island endeavours to profile, link and work with the companies based within the building in a wide variety of ways as they are a vitally important aspect of the overall organisation.
Units come up for rent periodically. To enquire about availability and costs contact laura.noble@spikeisland.org.uk
