With the exhibition Cartography in November 2000, Spike studio holders and internationally reknowned video artists, John Wood and Paul Harrison transformed the main gallery space with a multiple monitor installation.

In 2000 the Spike Island studio artists asked internationally acclaimed saxophonist and composer Andy Sheppard to select the works for the main exhibition in Spike Island’s central gallery

German artist Wiebke Siem was awarded the second Henry Moore Fellowship residency in 1999. Over the course of the 6 months she produced a body of work contained within the exhibition New Project that opened in January 2000
