Spike Island has commissioned Glasgow-based artist Clare Stephenson to develop a new installation for summer 2009. She-who-Presents is Stephenson’s first major solo show in a public gallery.

Elizabeth Price was awarded the Arts Council England South West Residency 2008 and returns to Spike Island with a new body of work developed through this unique opportunity for UK based artists. Ruth Claxton
Ruth Claxton was awarded the Arts Council England: South West Residency at Spike Island in 2007. She returns in January with her critically acclaimed solo exhibition Lands End. The exhibition is organised by Ikon Gallery and supported by the Arts Council England National Touring Programme, the Henry Moore Foundation and the Owen Family Trust.
